About Noah’s Ark Playscheme:
Noah’s Ark is a non-profit making holiday Playscheme providing respite to families in the Hertsmere area and forms part of Hertsmere Mencap. We are currently partly funded by Hertfordshire County Council, but rely on donations for extra resources such as equipment and trips. We accept children with learning disabilities aged 5-16 yrs and will accommodate siblings where possible.
The scheme runs for one week at Easter and three weeks during the Summer holidays, Monday – Friday 10.00am – 3.00pm. We also hold activity days during the winter holidays.
The Scheme is run by a Management Committee consisting of parents who make decisions regarding the scheme, including staffing and training; Noah’s Ark is Ofsted registered and has an extensive range of policies that are available to parents/carers. Our 2016 Ofsted inspection rated us as meeting all requirements (we are not marked on an EYFS basis as we don’t take under 5’s). Their report reflects the high standards that we adhere to in caring for our children. Here is a quote:
“committed staff understand how to provide an excellent service for children with disabilities and special educational needs”.
