12 – YEAR OLD GIRLS BAKE SALE SCOOPS £1,000 FOR HERTSMERE MENCAP & KISHARON

School friends, Lara, Ella and Ariella sold hundreds of delicious homemade cakes and biscuits and raised £1,000 for people with disabilities.

The threesome had volunteered with Hertsmere Mencap and Kisharon while they were in primary school and while they now all go to different secondary schools, they wanted to come together to help people with greater challenges than their own.

The charity bake sale which was held at Ella’s house and attended by Cllr Victor Eni, the Mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood and his wife Martine, saw more than 60 people come through the door and generous donations were made from friends and family both in person and online.

Cllr Eni said:

“I am so impressed that these girls have started volunteering and raising money for charity in their community at such a young age. Without volunteers, charities would not be able to exist. Thank you also to everyone who turned out today and found time to support such worthwhile charities.”
